Reina Torres de Arauz Museum
Address: Street 24 Avenue Justo Arosemena
Since 23 December 1980, this institution is located in a building that was erected in 1909. Among its goals is the need to disseminate the culture of the Antilles and highlight their participation in the construction of the French canal railway as well as the Panama Canal.
A room shows photos alluding to the arrival of Antillean immigrants to Panama and their engagement in the construction of the railway and the Interoceanic Canal; dioramas showing their ways of living upon settlement, together with other interesting attractions.
Visitors can always make tours accompanied by a nice and well-trained guide. In August, activities are organized to make reference to the construction of the Canal (photo exhibitions, talks, contests) with involvement of young students.
